THE WEBB SISTERS - 2 albums

Born into a family of musicians in Kent, England, Charley and Hattie are The Webb Sisters..... Beguiling, dynamic performers with hugely expressive voices and plangent harmonies, they are highly skilled multi-instrumentalists and songwriters of originality and intelligence. Ingnues yet thinkers, the sisters' youthful energy and musical training combine in adventurous, lyrical and emotionally enthralling performances. Their singing and playing (harp, guitar, mandolin and more) draw from the folk and pop traditions of Britain and the United States. The Webb Sisters have recorded two albums, building a following in the UK and achieving album and record of the week on iTunes and BBC Radio Two. The Webb Sisters represented the UK at America's 400th Anniversary celebrations, contributed songs to several major TV shows (most recently "Cane" on CBS), recorded a new song for a Judy Collins tribute album alongside the likes of Dolly Parton and Rufus Wainwright, and have performed on major concert tours with artists such as Jamie Cullum, James Morrison and Jason Mraz. Currently, The Webb Sisters are honoured to be touring and singing with one of their idols, Leonard Cohen, and are recording their new album with multiple Grammy-winning producer, Peter Asher. HERE

2006 - Daylight Croossing @192
Daylight Crossing, The Webb Sisters' debut album is an utterly charming, melody-led Rumours for the 21st century. Daylight Crossing will be all over the charts soon enough, the girls' gorgeous, cut glass vocals bleeding from radio sets up and down the country. "We were kind of lumped together really," says Charley Webb of why she and her sister, Hattie, decided to make music together. "We never actually chose to sing as a duo; it was almost as if it was chosen for us, somehow." Hattie, the slightly more mystical of the two, thinks it might have had something to do with destiny: "We were never *not* going to be singing together. Charley and I have always had this natural connection. Yes, we're sisters, but there's more to it than that, I think. We've made music with other people along the way, and that's been fine - mostly - but I just think we understand one another better than we do anybody else. We click, and we complement each other perfectly. Charley has always been very good at being part of the system, for example. She was Head Girl at school, she is so self assured so capable. Me, I'm more firey and impetuous, I guess. And somewhere in all this, we find balance. Balance and harmony. And passion, that too."

2009 - Comes In Twos @320
The Webb Sisters are a musical duo comprising the siblings Charley and Hattie Webb who are based mostly in the United Kingdom. On tour as back up singers with Leonard Cohen, the UK duo of Charley and Hattie Webb are getting much attention these days. They are steeped in the British Folks tradition, and it shows in the 5 track EP. Heavy on vocals, and the use of accoustic instruments lends to a very organic sound.
