Magna Carta are a rock band formed in April, 1969. The band was initially composed of Chris Simpson (song writer, poet, acoustic guitar and vocals), Lyell Tranter (guitarist), and Glen Stuart (vocals). The group have accomplished many simply, superbly crafted songs; great full length classic works such as Seasons and Lord of the Ages. They have made 30 odd albums, six of which have gone Gold, and three Silver. This, the band's third LP, was originally issued in 1971 by Vertigo Records at a time when future Elton John guitarist Davey Johnstone was a member of the group. The 12 tracks included the European 45 'Time For The Leaving' plus guest piano by Rick Wakeman. *
