Soulful R&B singer Karyn White had a long string of hits in the late 1980s and early '90s before she married super-producer Terry Lewis and largely retired from performing. SUPERWOMAN: THE BEST OF KARYN WHITE collects 14 of the finest tracks from White's four Warner Brothers albums between 1988 and 1994, including all of her hit singles. A distaff answer to the New Jack Swing movement, White was one of the strongest performers of the era and a prototype for later stars like Mary J. Blige and Macy Gray.
