MIKE BLOOMFIELD - Celebrating The Blues (2006)

Featuring the legendary American blues guitarist Mike Bloomfield performing live in a small West Coast club, this set was recorded in the early 1970s. While Bloomfield's voice was never his strongest asset, his distinctive guitar playing is much in evidence on a collection that includes both blues standards and unusual choices like "Darktown Strutters Ball," played as part of a ragtime medley. This set also features the pianist Mark Naftalin, with whom the guitarist worked extensively in the early 1970s.
